Review of Verde Botanicals

Photobucket

This conditioner is SO yummy, I almost wanted to keep it to myself. *hangs head* But then I remembered I don’t keep hair gems away from my readers & fellow Naturalistas!! :)

I honestly find some of the BEST hair products at Marshall’s, TJ Maxx & Ross, and this was no exception. I stumbled upon a conditioner called Verde Botanicals Tea Tree Refreshing Conditioner while looking for another staple of mine by Broaer. It’s enhanced with tea tree and neem oils, Amazonian oils, and is also paraben-free. It’s pleasantly scented with great ingredients.

Ingredients: Tee Tree Oil*, Copaiba Oil*, Neem Oil*, Organic Pomegranate Extract*, and Andiroba Nut Oil* in D.I. Water, Cetyl-OH*, Stearic Acid*, Behentromonium Chloride*, Polyquaternium-4*, Hydroxypropyl Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride*, Sucrose Cocoate, Vegetable Glycerin*, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein*, Natural Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol (and) Ethylexylglycerin, Citric Acid.

*Antimicrobial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, etc. for dermatitis.

*Antioxidant

*Emollient and anti-inflammatory

*Emollient

*Fatty acid used as an emulsifying agent and/or emulsion stabilizer

*Conditioning agent that acts as an acidifier. It lowers the pH, which helps to seal the cuticle, helping to protect it from damage.

*Conditioning agent the smooths cuticle, improving combability

*Improves ability to detangle

*Humectant and conditioning agent

Pros:

Instant slip! It says it’s a light-weight conditioner, but while it seriously melted right into my hair and made finger-detangling SUCH a breeze, it wasn't SO light that it was watery. Little was needed but it still packed a moisturizing punch.

Tea Trea & Neem Oil. Since I suffer from [undiagnosed] seborrheic dermatitis, these ingredients will [hopefully] help in killing the bacteria that causes flaking. Can't really be sure as these oils were infused into the distilled water, which means it MAY be a negligible amount. The addition to the Amazonian oils that also act as antibacterials that may also help in that regard.

It’s cheap! I mean, 35 oz for $7.99. No brainer.

Great ingredients. Great conditioning ingredients and emollients. A must for the colder winter-months that are ahead.

Hair feels moisturized. Maybe it’s because of the veggie glycerin and because it’s rainy right now, which means the moisture is being pulled from the humidity and is probably making my hair feel this way, but my hair feels GREAT. Even after rinsing most of it out! That’s all that I care about right now.

Cons:

Probably not THAT easily available. I should probably buy up all the remaining bottles, because upon further research online, Amazon sells the brand and the cheapest conditioner is THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS! O_o. I’m the queen of cheap, so you know there's no way in HIZELL that I'm paying THAT much for some conditioner. LOL!

This will be a new staple of mine without ANY question. I didn't rinse all of it out, and it worked GREAT under my Ori products. SCORE!! If you happen to see this on the shelf at your local discount retailer, pick it up and give it a try. It doesn't involve a huge investment, and you may find yourself a great product.

I was in Marshalls today and picked up this conditioner because I thought it work well as a deep conditioner. I came online and found this review and cannot wait to try it. My hair is in senegalese twist so it will have to wait. I may but another bottle if I find it just so I will have it because I see how much Amazon sells it for. Thanks for posting your review.

I bought this product today and was pleasantly suprised to see your comment. My hair is in twists now, but I can't wait to use it. I may find another bottle just to have it, especially seeing that Amazon is selling it for so much more.

@ Nickchelle No problem! I ended up buying another liter myself just because I was worried it would disappear from the shelves. lol

I hope it works for you!

I am in love with this conditioner. I saw it at Marshalls a year ago and I still have it. The problem is now that the bottle is almost gone. I can not find this product anywhere. I've searched high and low for this conditioner. I'm beginning to think that it's only sold over seas. If anyone know of another place to buy this product other than Marshalls. Please post.
