And that I did.
While looking for my moisturizer by Elasta QP, I stumbled across Taliah Waajid's Kinky, Wavy, Natural line. Specifically the Easy Herbal Comb Out and the Style & Shine.
The Easy Herbal Comb Out is mostly for detangling, which isn't necessarily a problem for myself since I don't do WnG's often anymore, but the ingredients led me to think it would be a good leave in under the Style & Shine since it also says that it "moisturizes and conditions". I'd be the judge for that eventually.
The Style & Shine looks like a cream gel and can be used for loc maintenance, WnG's, twists, etc. The ingredients with this one also caught my attention. And since I can find it local w/o paying shipping, I definitely wanted to give it a try. Sometimes I don't wanna spend $10 on shipping on 2-3 products. :P
My review:
Easy Herbal Comb Out
The good: It did detangle pretty well. As it was applied to my hair, I felt it kinda slip(likely because of the balsam and silk protein), if that makes sense. My hair was already detangled, but it helped to smooth it out a bit more. It also softened my hair. Now, it's not the best leave in but for what it was used for, it worked. Not great but good. Ingredients are also good and I can find them local for (I believe) under $7 bucks(can't remember exactly how much I paid, but I know if it was expensive, it wouldn't have been purchased. :P).
The bad: Nothing bad per se, but I dislike when companies don't list ALL of the ingredients but post vague descriptions like "herbal moisturizers and detanglers". If it's not proprietary, then you are REQUIRED to post the ingredients. Period. What if you have a reaction and don't know what the ingredient(s) is/are? I'd think a company, for it's financial protection, would wanna safeguard themselves and list them, but that's just me.
Ingredients: deionized water, shea nut oil, green tea & sage extract, propylene, shea butter, vitamin E, olive oil, cocoa butter, herbal moisturizers and detanglers, silk protein, balsam and aloe vera.
Style & Shine
The good: I love this stuff!! It works better on wet hair, but even on damp it does it's job. It literally slicks onto the hair(very slippery). Very little was needed on each piece twisted and once dry, my hair was soft but had a light hold to it. It also made my hair pretty shiny and my twists held up well for the week(I only keep them in for about a week to a week and a half). Very lightly scented, so you're not left with an obnoxiously loud fragrance on your hair. It actually reminds me (consistency-wise) of the Vigorol Curls Curling Creme(but better). Oh yeah, the shea is peg-modified, which means it can be removed with water(for those who cowash). I also tend to not do very very well with some products with glycerin(during the dry, cold winter), but this one works. All in the concentration and placement of the glycerin that makes it work.
The bad: I wish it came in a 16 oz tub. I'd pay for that because I know it would last and would still be more reasonably priced than MOST of the "natural" products out there. It currently comes in a 6 oz container, but I can make it stretch up to 2 months.
Ingredients: Peg-73 shea butter, glycerides, deionized water, glyceryl stearate, cetearyl alcohol, stearic acid and sodium cocoyl glutamate, glycerin, sage extract, green tea, dmdm hydrantion, vitamin E, silk protein, fragrance
All in all, good value for the price, definitely NOT just for kids and worth a try.

that makes me wanna go to a kiddie hair line--too much emphasis on our hair products--your hair looks delishus!
Glad you like it. I bought some for my girls hair and hated it, it was like build up in their hair, I gave it too my sister for my niece and she liked it.
Hmm... I might have to give the style and shine a try.
I definitely like this and it goes well with my hair. I only use the Style and go. For the glycerinating my hair I usually do home remedies.
