Revisiting some tried and true staples: Elucence MBC & MBS

Photobucket

There are very few product lines, or products in general that I can’t live w/o because honestly, I can live without most. When one product disappears, I’ve been fortunate in finding one to replace it. But one of the few product lines that have given me consistent results, thus remaining one of my all-time staples, is Elucence-brand products. It’s made by the same company that makes Kenra products, which is also known for its high quality. But what makes Elucence different is the use of more natural ingredients.

Anyway, I stopped being a cheapskate and purchased (2) liter bottles of Elucence Moisture Balancing Conditioner (MBC) and one liter of the Moisture Benefits Shampoo (MBS). The shampoo will last me a couple of years(if not more), I’m sure, and the conditioner should last me a while as well.

Elucence MBC is one of the few conditioners that work effectively as a cowash, rinse out and leave in conditioner, with excellent detangling properties. It also provides instant slip. Now, it IS a product that can be hit or miss, but what I normally advise is start with a clean slate to better your results. Don’t use it for the first time with hair that may have buildup, and if you’re using products w/ingredients with water-insoluble ingredients(oil, butters, etc…yes, they aren’t necessarily easily removed by JUST cowashing), or products withOUT peg-modified ingredients, you may/will need to cleanse with a gentle cleanser, and Elucence MBS works great for that. It’s also a product that doesn’t require that you use a lot. Use too much of the conditioner, and it may appear to foam. So the best approach is to try a little and add until satisfied.

I think it’s been a couple of years since I’ve used it. After being sick the last 3 days, I think my hair could use a “spa day”.
