I'll probably cut more before going back to my twists, but it's a nice little change. And it's nice seeing my progress.
Sidenote: I'm just slightly perplexed at how many more compliments I get with straight hair. Even when it's pulled in a PONYTAIL that is tucked into a bun. It's really nothing special to me, but apparently garnered a bit of notice. *shrugs*
*Pictured above is after blowdrying and wearing in about 10 twists before straightening the next day. Products used: Elucence MBC(as a leave in) and Jojoba and Sweet Almond oil.
*Pictured here is after lightly straightening. Meaning, I didn't do a hard press with my flat-iron. I used Natural Oasis Hair & Scalp Conditioner as my protectant(which is AWESOME...review coming soon).

That first picture is GOOORGEOUS!!
NICE!!! I kinda did the same thing...cut then measured...instead of other way around. My hair hasn't gotten back to this yet but I'll get there. You are inspiring many...keep up the good work.
Your hair is amazing and looks very thick too. I agree protective styling is amazing. Especially when you don't do too many length checks the results take time but are gratifying.
Beautiful Hair.
how long since the last length check, that is some serious growth
Thanks, ladies! :)
@Hell notes for beauty- I only straighten maybe 3 times a year, if that. So my length checks are few. I just keep it twisted most of the time, and keep it moving. :)
@Naturallady I did one in early October. Actually, I just straightened it, but didn't really do it for a length check. I generally check whenever I straighten, though.
I love how thick and healthy your hair looks. How often do you PS? Do you ever enjoy just simply wearing your hair out on occasion?
@Kicha I protective style maybe 90-95% of the time. I rarely do wash n gos, or straighten.
I actually love(d)wearing my hair out, but with more length, and with me trying to retain this length, keeping it in PS's works out best. Plus, it saves me money on product because I'd need to cowash at least 2-3 times a week to keep my hair from getting too tangled. But I plan on wearing it out more during the warmer months since I can actually air-dry.
Your hair is ridiculously beautiful! It will take me centuries to get my hair that length! Awesome!
Wow! Your hair is thick & gorgeous!!
Lovely.
Your hair is awesome! I get the opposite with straight hair. When I had straight hair it was boring and no one took a second glance. However, when I started doing twist-n-curls it was ridiculous how many compliments I received. Then I said "mmm, note to self, I must have looked hideous before. :D

@Aj & @ChocolateOrchid Thank you, ladies!!
@MM I think I wear my hair up so much that when I change it up, it's such a surprise and a different look. I really DO look different with straight hair. Not a bad or good thing....just different kind of look, I guess. I'm trying to rationalize other folks' reactions to it. lol
But then....when I wear a WnG(which is another rarity), I get compliments from strangers(tourists, etc). LOL!
wow ur hair looks great. i love the twistout and the straight.
I'm new to twist outs and read your post on NC which led me to here lol. I just had to tell you that your hair is gorgeous!!
